A race-inspired Single-cylinder Euro5, 13.6 hp, 10.5 Nm, 133 kg dry,
FB Mondial Returned to business 5 years ago, the Italian brand FB Mondial has made a name for itself by offering stylish small-displacement motorcycles with attractive unique designs, Back in 2018 Mondial made the promise of a tracker version. The promise has now kept, and the fantastic new Flat Tack 125 has been released.
Turning a Flat Track racer into a street bike or "street tracker" was originally an idea that came from America but the Italians always have a way of making things look better its what they do, and Mondial have not disappointed with the new Flat Tracker!
As on its other models, the brand plays the retro card yet still manages to give it a modern twist. Following the DNA of flat track racing with the ground clearance raised, the 19-inch spoked rims, the twin exhaust in the high position. The front racing plate which bears the number 57 as a nod to the year 1957 in which Mondial won four world titles.
At first glance, the Flat Track looks like it has no headlights which really help to give it that racing look, but it does in fact, have full LED main and high beam lights which are mounted very neatly just below the front number board. The sidelights are also LED and built into the indicators to further maintain its racing looks.
The LED lighting also continues to the rear of the bike with full-LED tail light. Both front and rear indicators are also LED units which have the flowing sequential effect made famous by car brands such as Audi.
One of the most appealing modern touches is the full-colour TFT speedo monitor and user interface with adaptive lighting which automatically adjusts to suit lighting conditions and a choice of two display modes allowing the user quickly switch between the two. It gives all the information you would expect and is very clear even in direct sunlight.
At the heart of the bike, the Flat Track has the tried and tested Aprilia liquid-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder with double overhead camshaft, but this time around its been developed alongside Dell' Orto to ensure it now meets the new Euro5 standard. On the performance side, it is still capable of delivering 10 kW of power and a torque of 10.5 Nm and will give ample performance for a 125 and sit quite comfortably among the fastest and most potent 125cc machines currently on the market.
Suspension wise the Flat track sports large inverted front forks, and it's beefy centrally mounted rear shock absorber ensure a smooth ride that tackles the corners very well. Braking is taken care of with its radial callipers which also sport the FB Mondial logo, the front caliper being a large more than capable 4 pistons item which takes care of all your braking requirements with ease. The Flat Track is also relatively lightweight at only 133 kg dry which also helps to give the Flat Track nimble handling and responsive braking.
The Flat Track 125 is priced at £3799 +OTR and is availble in Yellow, Red and Black
